Mechanism of Action
Nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor. Tenofovir alafenamide (TAF) is a phosphonoamidate prodrug of the nucleotide analog tenofovir (TFV). TAF is predominantly metabolized intracellularly to TFV. This intracellular metabolism is primarily catalyzed by cathepsin A (CatA).
